Patrick Fougeyrollas Ph.D. is an associate professor at the Department of Anthropology, Laval University. He is a researcher at the Center of interdisciplinary research on rehabilitation and social integration. He is a founding member and advisor of the International Network on the Disability Creation Process (INDCP). In addition, he is the Vice-President of the Institut national pour l’équité, l’égalité et l’inclusion- Personnes en situation de handicap (INEEI-PSH-Canada). He is the main author of the International Classification: Human Development Model – Disability Creation Process. His research focuses on the social determinants of disability, Disability Rights Movement and Inclusive Access. He has extensive experience in the management, planning, and evaluation of the health/disability policies applied to social participation and Human Rights of persons with disabilities. He is the 2004 recipient of the Disability Achievement Award of the American Public Health Association and the 2016 recipient of the Tanis Doe Award of the Canadian Association of Disability Studies.
